Today I went to my Sociology professors office to turn in a paper. On his wall I noticed numerous black and white photographs. After talking to him I was amazed that he had taken them on a 3 month trip to Ireland. All photographs were taken on a Hasselblad and developed himself. He has had numerous exibits around the country and is wonderful at what he does. It just reminded me in this day of digital manipulation that if we remember the basics, the roots of art and photography we are all capable of doing phenominal work, with film or unedited photographs. I am now going to strive for photographs that need no enhancement, no retouch or manipulation. I want to show what I find beautiful in its natural state. His name is Richard Deutsch. He reminded me of why I love photography and art, because it is inocent and beautiful.
